They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. The same goes with unlocking Filipinos’ hearts.

Want to feel Filipino love? Start with a scoop of halo-halo!

San Miguel Beermen import Bennie Boatwright is kickstarting his Filipino naturalization process in hopes of playing for the Gilas Pilipinas.

And what is a more fun way to understand the Philippine culture than by trying Filipino desserts?

On Instagram, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas shared a picture of the 27-year-old big man beating the heat with our iconic Halo-Halo.

While it is not part of the plan of the former USC Trojan, Boatwright is eager to pursue his application for Filipino citizenship after witnessing the basketball culture in the country.

His presence will serve as an additional boost as Gilas Pilipinas is gunning for a slot in international competitions like Olympics and FIBA World Cup.
