38,388 career points and counting.

LeBron James is the new all-time scoring leader of the NBA. He now holds the distinction, previously held by Hall of Famer and six-time NBA champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who set the record in 1984.

James broke the record with a fadeaway jumper from the top of the key against Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kenrich Williams.

The magical moment happened with around 12 seconds left in the third quarter of the game between James’ Los Angeles Lakers and OKC. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Abdul-Jabbar himself, along with many other NBA legends in the building, put the game on pause to honor LeBron's milestone.
