Eldrew Yulo hung on until the end to nab his first medal of the 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships, finishing with the bronze medal in the floor exercise at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport, Pasay on Sunday.

Yulo struggled compared to his qualifying performances due to an ankle injury, but was still able to get himself on the podium.

Yulo scored 13.733 — a far cry from his 14.300 in the same category during the men’s all-around final, but it was enough to nip Arsenii Dukhno for the medal as the Russian incurred a 0.100 penalty after stepping out of the mat.

It was the difference between Yulo’s bronze and a fourth place finish.

Lanbin Yang nabbed the gold, while Simone Speranza finished with the silver.
