Carl Tamayo got the better of compatriot Will Navarro as the defending champion Changwon LG Sakers drubbed the KCC Egis in KBL action.
Carl Tamayo emerged victorious against fellow Filipino import Will Navarro as defending champion Changwon LG Sakers beat the KCC Egis, 83-61, in the 2025-26 Korean Basketball League season on Monday.
Tamayo and Changwon are now level with league-leaders Anyang as they improved their record to 9-4 for the season.
Changwon flipped the script on KCC Egis in the second quarter where the LG Sakers doubled up on their foes, 26-13, to overturn a 14-16 deficit after the opening salvo.
Tamayo finished with a game-high 20 points and was a rebound short of the double-double with nine boards. He also had two assists, three steals, and one block.
Meanwhile, three other players finished in double digit scoring for the LG Sakers en route to a bounce back victory after falling against the Wonju DB Promy in their previous game.
The KCC Egis saw little contribution from Navarro as he continues to play sporadically for the team.
Navarro finished with two points in 9:24 minutes of action. He also had four rebounds.
KCC Egis have lost four of their last five games and are now at 7-6, barely holding on to the top 6 in the standings after starting out the season strong.
The Egis won their first four matches of the season before hitting their slump.
