Carlo Biado credited his mother Lolita’s first-ever live appearance at one of his matches for giving him an emotional boost, with Team Asia once again dominant in Day 3 of the 2025 Reyes Cup.
For all the titles, trophies, and international glory Carlo Biado has collected throughout his storied career, few moments compare to the sight of his mother, Lolita, cheering him on from the stands.
This happened for the very first time during Day 3 of the Reyes Cup 2025 on Saturday, October 18, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
The reigning World Nine-ball champion delivered another clinical performance for Team Asia, contributing to their current 9-1 lead in the tournament.
A first-time moment with mom
Through another masterful showing from "The Black Tiger," the highlight of the day was deeply personal.
Biado shared that Saturday’s matches held special meaning as his mother watched him compete live for the first time.
“Siyempre, napakasaya dahil unang-una ‘yung mother ko, first time nanonood sa akin ng live at talagang super happy ako dahil first time talaga,” Biado said.
“First time ito nangyari kaya thank you kay mother, kay nanay na nandito siya. At bukas manonood siya ulit para sa panalo natin.”

Biado even admitted that he made sure to put on a stellar performance, just to let his mother see his skills on the pool table.
“Oo, talagang sinadya ko na gusto ko siyang mapunta rito para mapanood niya ako ng live, para makikita niya ako na naglalaro ng ganito for the first time,” he added.
Extra motivation from family support
Biado’s loved ones were out in full force at the venue, with his wife and children also present to cheer him on.

Their support, he said, gave him an emotional boost in what remains a high-pressure competition despite his years of experience on the international circuit.
“Siyempre masaya kasi at nakakalakas ng loob. Pinapalakas niya ‘yung loob ko,” said Biado.
“Sa totoo lang itong laban na ito may pressure. Kaya lang siyempre sa dami na ng experience ko sa mga international event, kahit na may pressure ako, nadadala ko ‘yung laban.”
With Team Asia now just two wins away from defending the Reyes Cup crown, Biado eyes for a more meaningful moment as he looks to celebrate with his family after Sunday’s matches.
