The UST Growling Tigresses moved one win away from sweeping the first round of the UAAP Season 88 women’s basketball tournament after dominating the Adamson Lady Falcons, 79-55, on Saturday, October 18, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

With the win, UST improved to 6-0, maintaining its spotless record and firm grip on the top spot, while Adamson fell to 2-4 heading into the final stretch of the first round.

Eka Soriano powered the Tigresses’ balanced effort, finishing with 13 points, six assists, and five steals to earn Player of the Game honors. She also posted a +20 efficiency rating, helping UST dictate the pace from start to finish.

The Tigresses will aim to complete the Round 1 sweep when they face the UP Fighting Maroons on Wednesday, October 22, at 12 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena, while Adamson looks to bounce back against the DLSU Lady Archers earlier at 10 a.m.
