Czechia rallied from a huge third-set deficit to complete the sweep against Tunisia and advance to the 2025 FIVB Men's World Championship quarterfinals.
Czechia will make its way to the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship after dominating Tunisia in straight sets, 25-19, 25-18, 25-23, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Tuesday, September 23.
This marks the Czech’s first entry into the Top 8 of the World Championship since 1986, where they finished eighth overall.
Down by as many as five points in the third set at 14-19, Czechia went on a frenetic 6-0 run to suddenly take the lead.
Tied at 21-all, the Czechs snatched a crucial two-point lead, which they would go on to hold to seal the victory.
The world No. 19, the lowest among all the remaining teams in the tournament, banked on the trio of Jan Galabov, Lukas Vasina, and Patrik Indra to lead the squad.
Indra finished with 14 points, while Galabov and Vasina had 13 markers each.
Czechia will now await the winner between Serbia and Iran later at 8:00 p.m.
