The New Taipei Kings will compete in the 2025–26 EASL season for the third straight year after winning back-to-back domestic titles and securing their first EASL podium finish last season.
The New Taipei Kings are ready to represent Chinese Taipei in the 2025–26 East Asia Super League (EASL) season after clinching consecutive championships in the P. LEAGUE+ (2023–24) and Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL) (2024–25), solidifying their status as one of Asia’s top basketball clubs.
“New Taipei is a proven winner and has reached the top time and time again in our league,” said EASL CEO Henry Kerins. “EASL is the champions league of Asian basketball, and with New Taipei, we’re adding another true champion.”
The upcoming season will feature three teams from Chinese Taipei: the Kings, Taoyuan Pauian Pilots, and Taipei Fubon Braves. This development comes amid a new collaboration between the P. LEAGUE+ and TPBL.
“We’re pleased to welcome the TPBL’s New Taipei Kings into our longstanding partnership with EASL,” said P. LEAGUE+ CEO Blackie Chen.
For the Kings, the 2025–26 season marks their third straight EASL appearance.
“As the league continues to grow with more elite teams, we look forward to the challenge of competing at the highest level in Asian basketball,” said Kings GM James Mao.
The Kings have been a model of consistency in EASL play. They reached back-to-back Final Fours, finishing fourth in 2023–24 after falling to Japan’s Chiba Jets in the semifinals, and claiming third place in 2024–25 by defeating the Ryukyu Golden Kings following a loss to eventual champions Hiroshima Dragonflies.

Their all-time EASL record stands at 9–7.
The team also boasts individual accolades, with Sani Sakakini and Jeremy Lin earning All-EASL honors in 2024–25. Lin made history as the first player to be named to the All-EASL Team in consecutive seasons.
