Gilas Pilipinas Women punched their ticket to the 2025 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup with a commanding win over Chinese Taipei in Stop 5 of the Asia-Pacific Youth Nations League in Doha, Qatar.
Gilas Pilipinas Women secured a spot in the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Under-23 World Cup following a dominant showing at Stop 5 of the FIBA 3x3 Youth Nations League Asia-Pacific 1 in Doha, Qatar.
The Philippine team’s victory over Chinese Taipei, 21-14, in the final clinched their qualification. Kacey Dela Rosa led the way with 11 points in the deciding game.
With this win, Gilas Pilipinas Women accumulated 460 points in the series, putting them out of reach of their closest competitors.
Chinese Taipei and New Zealand can only reach a maximum of 500 and 480 points, respectively, even after the final stop. Gilas is guaranteed to finish with at least 505 points.
Earlier in the tournament, the team composed of Tin Cayabyab, Kacey Dela Rosa, Cheska Apag, and Cielo Pagdulagan defeated Singapore, 21-11, and Qatar, 21-10, to advance to the final.
Gilas Pilipinas Women will compete in the final stop of the Youth Nations League against New Zealand and Indonesia, with qualification already secured.
The 2025 FIBA 3x3 Under-23 World Cup will be held from September 17 to 21 in Xiong An, China.
