Aurora Gaming brought professional esports closer to the youth after holding an interactive open lesson at Upper Bicutan National High School in Taguig last November 6.

The MPL Philippines Season 16 runner-ups turned an ordinary school day into an eye-opening experience for students curious about the world behind the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition.

The Aurora Gaming MLBB roster consists of Renejay “Renejay” Barcase, Edward “Edward” Jay Dapadap, Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto, Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo, Jan Dominic “Domengkite” Delmundo, Ben Seloe “Benthings” Dizon Maglaque, and Dylan “Light” Catipon.

“It felt great to inspire the younger generation, and I’m glad the students and teachers got a clearer picture of how esports really works,” said Catipon, Aurora Gaming’s star roamer.

For 45 minutes, Aurora’s MLBB pros and coaches broke down what life is really like inside the professional scene — from their humble beginnings and first tournaments to the moment they realized that esports could be a real career.

Players opened up about their daily training routines, the mental discipline required to compete, and the role that teamwork and education still play in staying at the top of their game.

The session quickly shifted from a talk to an energetic exchange as students asked about strategy, tournament pressure, and how players balance school and competitive training.

The morning ended with photos, handshakes, and wide smiles as students enjoyed their first close encounter with top-tier esports athletes.

What followed was an unexpected but heartwarming gesture: school administrators invited the Aurora delegation for a short courtesy visit.

Teachers shared how the session helped shine a positive light on esports, noting how it can teach students responsibility, motivation, and focus.

Team director Rada Ocampo shared that the lesson was meaningful not just for the students, but for the team as well.

“After how our MPL S16 run ended, I was amazed at how the team managed to bounce back. It was heartbreaking, but their spirit and passion for the game are still burning strong,” Ocampo said.

“During the school visit, our players and coaches shared their journey and inspired the students to chase their dreams. They may not be champions yet, but their character already shows they deserve it.”
