There's no stopping the champs.

Down 0-2 to FEU, the NU Lady Bulldogs were forced to dig deep before completing a reverse sweep, 17-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-12, in the first round of UAAP Season 88 at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, February 21.

NU got its act together in time thanks to a career-high showing from Arah Panique and the key playmaking of veteran setter Lams Lamina.

In the fifth set, NU went on a pivotal scoring run to turn the tides after going down 7-11.

Rookie Sam Cantada provided crucial points to get NU back in the game at 12-all, before Alexa Mata and Panique scored three straight points to finish the job.

Overall, it was an 8-1 closing run for the win for the Lady Bulldogs.

Panique unleashed a game-high 27 points on 23 attacks, with three blocks and one service ace.

Lamina, meanwhile, came off the bench and tossed 19 excellent sets, guiding NU to a 3-0 record.

Meanwhile, FEU was led by Gerz Petallo with 14 points as the Lady Tamaraws drop to 1-2.
