It's another UAAP game day, and the UST Growling Tigresses remain undefeated at 12-0.
The UST Growling Tigresses kept their immaculate season intact after turning back the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 92–79, on Saturday, November 15, in UAAP Season 88 women’s basketball action.
Sophomore guard Karylle Sierba powered UST with a standout performance, finishing with 21 points, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals to earn Player of the Game honors.
The Tigresses controlled the tempo from the second quarter onward, preventing Ateneo from gaining any real momentum as they protected their grip on the league’s No. 1 spot at 12–0.
They managed to get the win, even with the one-game suspension of head coach Haydee Ong after she got two techical fouls.
Ateneo, which entered the game hoping to move closer to a Final Four berth, fell to 7–4.
Camille Malagar led the Blue Eagles with 18 points, along with three assists and a steal, but her efforts weren’t enough to fend off UST’s balanced attack and defensive pressure.
The Tigresses now look ahead to a blockbuster matchup against defending champion NU Lady Bulldogs on November 23, a clash that could preview the Finals.
Ateneo, meanwhile, aims to regain footing in its playoff chase as it faces UP on November 19 before closing Round 2 against Adamson on November 23.
