Achrissa Maw and the UP Fighting Maroons are desperate to halt a four-game slide as they clash with the unbeaten UST Growling Tigresses in the UAAP Season 88 women’s basketball tournament on Wednesday, October 22.

Gametime is 12 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.

After starting the season strong with two wins, the Fighting Maroons (2-4) have struggled to sustain momentum, capped by a loss to La Salle in their previous outing.

Maw led the charge with 10 points, five assists, three rebounds, and a steal, but UP couldn’t close out late against the Lady Archers.

Head coach Paul Ramos will look to Maw, Louna Ozar, and Camille Nolasco to ignite the Fighting Maroons’ offense as they aim to end the first round on a winning note and stay within striking distance of the Final Four race.

But UP faces a tough test against the league-leading UST (6-0), which is chasing a first-round sweep under coach Haydee Ong.
