Andrew Bongo balls out in Ateneo win over UE | UAAP Highlights

Ateneo snapped its three-game losing streak with a determined 71-67 victory over UE in their UAAP Season 87 clash at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on November 13.

Leading the way was Andrew Bongo, who had an impactful performance, finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, and two assists while registering a +17 efficiency rating.

Bongo’s presence on both ends helped Ateneo (4-9) control the tempo, as they held off UE’s persistent efforts to rally back. His scoring and defensive energy set the tone, giving the Blue Eagles a much-needed boost as they played for pride after being eliminated from Final Four contention.

With this win, Ateneo denied UE an outright Final Four spot. The Red Warriors, now at 6-7 and dealing with their fourth straight loss, sorely missed foreign student-athlete Precious Momowei, who was suspended for the game.
