In an Instagram story, the 20-year-old forward indirectly talked about the incident.

"People must understand that we, too, are human beings; we are not perfect, and we make mistakes just like everyone else. Mistakes will always teach us something, that is unavoidable. What I did is NOT an excuse, but it will teach me a lot about the obstacles that I (and everyone else) will encounter in life," Lopez said.

"It's okay to make errors in life, but make sure to learn from them and reflect on them. Some will agree. while others will disagree, but that is the truth of life."

The UP Fighting Maroon believes he will learn from his mistakes.

"We don't always make the best decisions, but in the end, it all adds together to make us a better person and allows us to live with it. Mistakes will be made at some point in our lives, but at the end of the day, we should be able to stand by ourselves, make things right, and face any obstacles that may arise."

In the end, Lopez thanked the UP community for their continued support.

The Fighting Maroons will aim to get back to the finals and reclaim the title after falling short against the De La Salle Green Archers.
