The finals were not mean to be for the Philippine Women's Futsal Team.

The Filipina5 were unable to keep a clean sheet on Tuesday, December 16 as Vietnam emerged victorious in the Southeast Asian Games 2025 women's futsal semifinals, 1-0.

Samantha Hughes was doing a stellar job fending off the Vietnamese attacks in the first 20 minutes of action.

But Vietnam broke through in the first five minutes of the second half. Avoiding Hughes' slide tackle, the 2021 SEA Games runners-up kicked the ball up and all the way to the goal.

The Filipina5 have already achieved a historic feat, completing a triple semifinals appearance in the SEA Games along with the men's and women's football teams.

Like the Filipina5, the men's national football team fell to Vietnam and will be relegated to the bronze medal match.

Meanwhile, the Filipinas will also take on Vietnam but in the women's football gold medal match.

The Philippines await their opponent for the women's futsal bronze medal match on December 18. It will be aired via Pilipinas Live.
