The Philippine men’s football team kicked off its 2025 SEA Games campaign in Thailand with a strong 2–0 win over Myanmar on Friday, December 5, at the 700th Anniversary Stadium in Chiang Mai.
Alex Monis opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a powerful strike, before a Myanmar own goal in the 50th minute doubled the Philippines’ lead.
Myanmar pushed hard late, but the Filipino backline held firm to secure the clean sheet and all three points in Group A. Up next: a crucial showdown against Indonesia on December 8 as the Philippines continues its hunt for a breakthrough SEA Games finish.
