The battle for positioning continues in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference as two important matches take center stage on Thursday, March 5, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan.

The opener at 4 p.m. features the Cignal Super Spikers facing the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, with Cignal looking to tighten its hold on the top spot.

Despite a recent five-set loss to the Akari Chargers, the Super Spikers remain among the league leaders and are eager to bounce back.

Cignal continues to rely on the scoring of Vanie Gandler and Erika Santos, who combined for 46 points in their last outing. Support from Jackie Acuña, Ishie Lalongisip, and setter Gel Cayuna will again be key as the Super Spikers try to regain their rhythm.

ZUS Coffee, currently at 1-5, is hoping to end a three-game skid and climb out of the bottom of the standings. The Thunderbelles are expected to lean on Jovelyn Gonzaga and Chinnie Arroyo as they look for a steadier showing.

In the 6:30 p.m. main game, the PLDT High Speed Hitters take on the Farm Fresh Foxies, aiming to move closer to the top of the standings.

The High Speed Hitters bounced back from a loss to the Super Spikers with a dominant straight-set win over the Thunderbelles, continuing to showcase balance on both ends of the floor.

Savi Davison and Kim Dy lead the attack, while Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes anchor the middle. Setter Kim Fajardo and libero Kath Arado continue to provide stability in ball distribution and floor defense.

The Foxies, currently at 2-3, hopes to regain momentum behind Trisha Tubu, Ces Molina, Jolina Dela Cruz, and the rest of its lineup. However, Farm Fresh will need a steady performance to keep pace with a confident PLDT squad.

With several teams still in contention and the single-round preliminaries nearing their final stretch, every result carries added weight in the push toward the Qualifying Round.
