The Akari Chargers ended their three-game losing skid after firing past the Nxled Chameleons in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
The Akari Chargers broke through for their first win in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference after fending off the Nxled Chameleons, 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan on Tuesday, February 24.
After struggling to find their footing early in the conference, the Chargers finally got their groove back behind a stellar outing from Ced Domingo and Ivy Lacsina.
After coming up short in the third set, Akari came out firing in the fourth, building a 16-11 lead capped off by Domingo’s middle attack.
While the Chameleons, led by Brooke Van Sickle, tried to mount a comeback, the Chargers had a counter for every punch thrown at them.
Eli Soyud would push Akari to match point before Domingo closed the game out with another quick attack.
Mars Alba was hailed the Player of the Game with 22 excellent sets to go along with five points.
The Chargers snapped a three-game skid to improve to 1-3, while the Chameleons absorbed back-to-back defeats and slipped to 3-2.
Akari will look to build on the win when it faces the Cignal Super Spikers on Saturday, February 28, at the same venue.
