Despite winning his first game as head coach of the Petro Gazz Angels, Gary Van Sickle turns to improving the team moving forward into the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
Gary Van Sickle kept it cool after his winning debut with the Petro Gazz Angels as their new head coach.
"I think we came out a little slow. But overall, it was a good team effort. There are things we can fix, but we can do that in practice. But overall, it was a good win. Any win is a good win," Van Sickle said during the post-game press conference.
More than just a good win, his daughter Brooke sees his dad coaching the team as a good opportunity to improve.
"After games, I'm the type of volleyball player to like break things down and analyze games so I feel like it's nice to have them right then and there versus having to wait 'till he [wakes] up, watch the game, and then get feedback on what I can improve on and stuff," she said.
