PLDT stumbled to a first set hiccup but recovered its fierce form after that, downing hort-handed ZUS Coffee, 24-26, 25-17, 25-17, 25-14, to stretch its franchise-best win streak to 12 games in the 2025 PVL Invitational at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City Thursday, Aug. 28.

The High Speed Hitters bucked a surprising first-set defeat against the Thunderbelles, who were still without mainstays Jovelyn Gonzaga, Thea Gagate, Alyssa Eroa and AC Miner.

But it did not take long for PLDT to recover its bearings.

It came up with a dominant response in the second set which it sustained to the finish.
