The Chery Tiggo Crossovers flexed their muscles against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles to inch closer to the last 2025 PVL Invitational Finals slot.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers inch closer to the last 2025 PVL Invitational Finals spot after sweeping the undermanned ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, 25-17, 25-17, 25-23, at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday, August 26.
With momentum from their huge five-set victory against the Creamline Cool Smashers last time out, the Crossovers fired past the Thunderbelles, who were still without Jovelyn Gonzaga, Thea Gagate, Cloanne Mondonedo, Alyssa Eroa, AC Miner, and Chinnie Arroyo.
In the process, Chery Tiggo also eliminated Creamline, Cignal, and ZUS Coffee from Finals contention.
Still tied at 23-all in a close third-set battle, a crucial attack error by Kate Santiago pushed the Crossovers to match point. In the following play, Wielyne Estoque’s cross-court attack sailed wide, giving the victory to Chery Tiggo.
Jen Nierva was hailed the Player of the Game with 11 excellent digs and 19 excellent receptions.
Chery Tiggo will face Kobe Shinwa University on Friday, August 29, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
