The Akari Chargers have bolstered their roster with the signing of setter Mars Alba after her time with the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
The Akari Chargers have added a much-needed boost to their roster with the signing of setter Mars Alba, the team announced on Wednesday, July 9.
The move marks Alba’s third stop in the PVL following stints with the disbanded F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and, most recently, the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
Choco Mucho officially announced her departure on June 30, closing a three-conference tenure where she helped guide the Flying Titans to a silver-medal finish in the 2024 All-Filipino Conference.

Now with the Chargers, Alba’s arrival is expected to provide long-term stability in their setter rotation alongside Kamille Cal and Bea Bonafe.
However, the former UAAP Finals MVP won’t suit up just yet as she remains committed to national team duties with Alas Pilipinas.
Alba was fielded as a reserve player for Alas Women in the 2025 VTV Cup and is expected to continue training with the national team for the upcoming SEA V.League in August.

A champion setter from De La Salle University, Alba brings international experience, composure, and championship pedigree to an Akari team still working to build chemistry and momentum under new head coach Tina Salak.
The Chargers are currently holding a 1-3 record in Pool B of the PVL on Tour.

Alba is expected to join the Chargers in training after her national team duties conclude.
