Former UST Golden Tigresses turned PVL pros reunited with Coach Kungfu Reyes in a heartfelt moment during the 2025 PVL on Tour stop in Montalban, celebrating comebacks, debuts, and dreams fulfilled.
A wave of black, gold, and pride washed over the Ynares Center in Montalban as several former UST Golden Tigresses shared a heartfelt reunion with long-time mentor Coach Kungfu Reyes after the opening game of the 2025 PVL on Tour.
Now suiting up for Capital1 Solar Spikers and Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the former España standouts exchanged warm smiles and stories with the man who helped shape their college careers. Coach Kungfu didn’t come empty-handed—he came with a message from the heart.
“Goodluck ladies! Keep healthy and free from injuries,” Reyes said.
COMEBACK TIGRESS
Among the highlights of the night was the return of Imee Hernandez, who finally made her Chery Tiggo debut after nearly two years sidelined by a knee injury. The middle blocker showed flashes of the dominant form UST fans remember—steady, strong, and ready to soar again.
IMPACT ROOKIE
Meanwhile, Renee Peñafiel, a fellow UST alumna and the 26th overall pick in the 2024 PVL Draft, continues to turn heads. The 22-year-old made a strong first impression, finishing with 11 points and five excellent receptions to help Chery Tiggo outlast Capital1 in four tight sets, 20-25, 25-23, 25-12, 28-26.
NEW ERA FOR CAPITAL1
Across the court, another Tigress made her PVL debut—Pia Abbu, now suiting up for the rising Capital1 Solar Spikers. With fellow newcomers like KC Galdones and Ypril Tapia, Capital1 is fast becoming a dark horse in the league.
Whether as seasoned leaders or fresh faces, these former Tigresses carry the spirit of España into every serve, spike, and celebration.
