The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) released an official statement addressing growing concerns in the volleyball community about the proposed Alas Women Draft and related issues affecting athlete welfare.

The federation acknowledged the sentiments raised by stakeholders, particularly regarding the proposed draft system for Alas Women, which reportedly limits national team invitees to playing exclusively for the national team program.

In its message, the PNVF said it recognizes the concerns raised by the community and reaffirmed its commitment to building a system that prioritizes the welfare of athletes while strengthening the country’s volleyball program.

"As the sport's governing body, we remain committed to building a sustainable, inclusive, and athlete-centered path forward," the federation said.

The proposal has drawn criticism from various sectors of Philippine volleyball, with many raising concerns about player freedom, club commitments, and the overall impact on the professional league structure.

The statement also comes amid reports of alleged unpaid bonuses to former Alas head coach Jorge de Brito, an issue first reported by the Inquirer and Spin.ph.

The PNVF added that it values the voices of players, stakeholders, and fans, assuring the public that it is listening to feedback on current issues.
