The Akari Chargers maintain solo first in the PVL Reinforced Conference after a marathon five-setter against the Highrisers.
Challenged but not denied.
Akari continues its perfect dream run in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, powering to score a 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 22-25, 18-16 win over Galeries Tower Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.
The Chargers open the second round the same way they ended the first, improving to a league-best 6-0.

Ivy Lacsina was the top local scorer with 20 points for the Chargers, while Grethcel Soltones added another 13.
For Galeries Tower, it’s another heartbreak as the Highrisers endure their third five-set loss this conference.
Chuewulim Sutadta led the way with 20 points, France Ronquillo and Roselle Baliton added 12 each. The Highrisers dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
