Farm Fresh may have already fallen out of contention in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference, but Trisha Tubu is looking at the bright side of their campaign.

After pulling off a massive upset over the Chery Tiggo Crossovers last March 9, the Foxies went on a five-game dry spell that ultimately dropped them out of the Final Four race.

But on Thursday, April 18, Farm Fresh finally snapped out of its funk, after Tubu helped orchestrate a straight-set drubbing of the Strong Group Athletics, 25-10, 25-15, 25-22, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“Ayun, thankful po na nakuha ulit namin ‘yung win after ng consecutive losses po namin sa mga past few games namin,” Tubu, who delivered a game-high 13 points, all but one coming from attacks.

With the sweep, the Foxies hiked their record to 3-7, surpassing their campaign in the 2023 Second All-Filipino Conference, where they finished with a 2-9 slate. Despite the challenging conference, this All-Filipino is still the best in terms of total wins for the young Farm Fresh franchise.

Tubu said that the team is still in the process of embracing their new system, recognizing that growth takes time and dedication.

Under the expert guidance of Farm Fresh head coach Jerry Yee and team consultant Hideo Suzuki, alongside the invaluable contributions of Shimizu Mikihiro, the team's trajectory is poised for an upward shift. Additionally, the mid-conference arrivals of assistant coaches Shota Sato and Asaka Tamaru inject fresh perspectives, further enhancing the team's potential for improvement.

“Given na po bago po 'yung sistema namin so sobrang hirap po na i-adjust agad. Pero 'yun nga po, 'yung pagtulong tulong po ng team, nakakatulong po 'yun kahit na bagong sistema, and maraming adjustment, sobrang laking tulong lahat po is nagbibigay and nagpe-perform,” Tubu said.

She then continued, “‘Yung team is nasa process pa rin of maturing since 'yun nga, bagong sistema ngayon. Pero ang kagandahan sa team namin, is unti unti ina-adapat namin 'yung bagong style, bagong system. And alam naman namin na sa pag-adapt na 'to, unti unting tutulong sa pag-angat pa po sa mga susunod na conference itong team na 'to.”

Still, the fight is not over for Tubu and the Foxies, who seek to put a winning conclusion to their campaign when they attempt to pull off an upset over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans on April 23, Tuesday.
