The High Speed Hitters continue to build momentum in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
The PLDT High Speed Hitters continued their fine form in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday after taking down the Farm Fresh Foxies in straight sets, 25-17, 25-17, 25-20, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
After losing their opening match against the Cignal HD Spikers, PLDT has looked sharper in its last two games, which ended in sweeps.
Filipino-Canadian newcomer Savannah Davison led the High Speed Hitters anew with 18 points built on 13 attacks, two blocks, and three aces.
But more than her scoring prowess, it's her connection with star setter Rhea Dimaculangan that has blossomed over the past week.
“She’s (Rhea) my go-to (teammate). At practice, during the game, I make sure to come up to her every day and just talk to her a little bit,” Davison said during the postgame press conference.
“I tell her all the time how much love I have for her and she’s just overall a great person and that makes it so much easier to have her as a teammate,” she added.
The 32-year-old Dimaculangan likewise expressed her joy in having Davison on the squad.
“Si Savi ‘yung teammate na parang hindi mahirap pakisamahan. Sobrang bait and parehas kami nag-a-adjust, so kahit papaano nagco-connect na rin kaming dalawa,” said Dimaculangan.
With the Savi-Rhea connection continuing to grow, this should only bring good things to the High Speed Hitters.
PLDT improved to 2-1 and will have more than a week to rest and prepare for its next match against the Nxled Chameleons on November 2 in Laguna.
On the other hand, Farm Fresh will aim to secure its first victory against the Akari Chargers on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
