Already in their second season in the PVL, the Chargers still have a lot to prove.
It’s still roughly two months before the PVL Invitational, but the Akari Chargers are making sure that they make the most of the break.
On the team’s official TikTok page, the Chargers were spotted back in training after the Holy Week.
The video showed Akari worked on their digging. It seems to be an appropriate area to focus on, as they finished second-worst, eighth among nine teams, in that department during the All-Filipino Conference.
The Chargers also ranked eighth in the import-less conference standings, same finish compared to their PVL debut in the Reinforced Conference, but they have shown signs of improvement, playing competitively even without a dominating import like Prisilla Rivera.
As most professional athletes would say, there is always more work to be done. The Chargers will look to polish some of their weaknesses to finally be part of the playoff hunt in the next conference.
The team, however, will have training days without coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito, who is mentoring the Women's National Volleyball Team for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia in May.
