Looking to bounce back from their tough loss versus the NLEX Road Warriors, the Converge FiberXers did just that in their 98-90 victory over the Blackwater Bossing.

Maverick Ahanmisi once again starred in the FiberXers victory as he finished with 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

After only scoring 5 points in the first half, Ahanmisi put on a show in the third quarter, scoring 22 big points to give Converge some separation against Blackwater.

The FiberXers would maintain this lead until the final buzzer.

Despite being the star of the game, the 6-foot-2 guard credited his career-high game to his teammates.

“I credit my teammates and my coaches for getting me open, and you know, everything was just falling in tonight. But like I said, I credit that to them, I wouldn't get those open shots if they weren't setting good screens for me,” said Ahanmisi.

Converge was able to bounce back from their tough loss to NLEX last Saturday. Still, Coach Aldin Ayo knows that there’s still plenty of work that needs to be done.

“May mga naitama kami, especially ‘yung turnovers. Nabawasan ng konti and ‘yung execution medyo na-refine din ng kaunti pero kulang na kulang pa,” said Ayo.

With their victory, the FiberXers improved to 6-2 in the standings and clinched a quarterfinals slot.

“Siyempre grateful nasa playoffs na, pero we still have to work on our game,” said Ayo. “I always tell the players that we have to continue building our team because it doesn't really stop. As long as in contention ka, kailangan nabubuo yung team.”

And, indeed, Ayo is continuing to build a contender over at Converge, and Ahanmisi is emerging as its cornerstoneif he isn't already.
