While you might still have the holiday blues, Phoenix players are back in the gym.
It’s only January 2, and the Commissioner’s Cup Finals between Barangay Ginebra and the Bay Area Dragons is still ongoing, but all that doesn’t matter for the Phoenix LPG Fuel Masters. On just the second day of 2023, Coach Topex Robinson’s boys are already back in the gym, sweating out all the spaghetti and ham they consumed in the holidays.
Seriously, though, it looks like they’re trying to get a good head start on the upcoming battle for the Governor’s Cup.
These images of commitment and dedication of the Fuel Masters was fittingly uploaded on social media by the team’s hard-working forward Sean Anthony. See, this guy is all-hustle both on the court and on Instagram as well.

On Anthony’s post, you can see what looks like import Du’Vaugh Maxwell, joining the team in the workout session. He appears to be walking around, looking for an available exercise machine to use. Why not do push-ups in the meantime? But hey, Maxwell is no joke. As a late sub in the 2021 Governors' Cup, he averaged 27.5 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4 assist and 1.5 steals through four games.

On this particular screenshot, you’ve got Jason Perkins doing some form of ab routine. It doesn't seem like he's wasting any time putting the work in.
In their last Governors’ Cup campaign, Phoenix finished eighth to make the quarterfinals stage. This time, they’re hoping to do themselves one better by making the semis. Who knows? With a newfound focus and motivation, as exemplified by Sean Anthony’s IG story, we might just see the Fuel Masters pull off a few surprises.
