Rey Nambatac and league-leading TNT look to strengthen their solo hold on the No. 1 spot when they duke it out with second-running Rain or Shine at the Aquilino Q. Pimentel Convention Center in Cagayan de Oro Saturday, Nov. 15.

The lone match of the day unfurls at 7:30 p.m.

TNT rides a four-game winning streak and is thus brimming with confidence as it aims to improve its 5-1 mark against its former companion on top, the Elasto Painters.

RoS got stopped by NLEX, 91-105, last week, and is now right behind its foe, together with the Road Warriors, Magnolia, San Miguel and Converge with their identical 5-2 marks.

TNT will lean on Nambatac, who is expected to deliver an inspired play in his homecoming.

The Tropang 5G will also get a big boost with the expected return of key big man Poy Erram, who has been out since the previous conference’s playoffs.

Though enjoying its seat at the summit, TNT's latest win — a 109–95 escape over lowly Terrafirma — left coach Chot Reyes less than pleased.

“Terrafirma completely outplayed us. We had no energy. We had no urgency. We’re lucky Kelly bailed us out,” Reyes said after the match.

TNT was bailed out by Kelly Williams, who turned back the clock with 28 points on eight triples and 11 rebounds.
