Terrafirma begins a new chapter under head coach Ronald Tubid when it tangles with Blackwater in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Friday, Oct.10.

The match is set at 5:15 p.m. at the Ynares Center in Montalban.

Tubid, who took the reins in the offseason, will look to steer a retooled Dyip squad that blends returning contributors and fresh firepower.

Veterans Louie Sangalang, Mark Nonoy and Kemark Cariño remain as the team’s backbone, bringing familiarity and stability to the revamped lineup.

Adding a major boost is Jerrick Ahanmisi, the sharpshooting guard acquired via trade from Magnolia in exchange for the rights to Javi Gomez de Liaño.

Known for his outside shooting and floor spacing, Ahanmisi is expected to complement Sangalang’s inside presence and Nonoy’s playmaking.

However, Terrafirma will have to make do without top overall pick Geo Chiu, who remains committed to his MPBL team Abra Weavers.

Chiu will join the Dyip later this year.

Meanwhile, Blackwater will parade prized rookie Dalph Panopio, the third overall pick, alongside Sedrick Barefield and Christian David in what promises to be an exciting battle between two young, rebuilding teams eager to set the tone for their campaigns.

For Tubid and the Dyip, the matchup marks not just an opening game — but the first step toward proving that Terrafirma is ready to rise under a new system and culture.
