Meralco and Terrafirma made an early import switch in the ongoing PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup.

The Bolts decided to bring in DJ Kennedy in Akil Mitchell’s stead after the latter suffered a broken nose seconds into their game against Rain or Shine on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Even without Mitchell, who coach Luigi Trillo likened to three-time Best Import Allen Durham, Meralco still rolled to a second straight win in as many games.

Mitchell is temporarily relegated to the injury or reserve list.

Kennedy has been playing for the Bolts in the East Asia Super League, where they sit behind Group B leader Ryukyu Golden Kings with a 2-1 win-loss record.

Meanwhile, the Dyip, desperate to arrest a 0-3 skid, tapped Brandon Edwards to replace Ryan Richards.

Richards has been reportedly bothered by mid-back spasms.

Both teams made the move in time for their square-off on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Malate.
