The TNT Tropang Giga's 80-69 victory over the Taipei Fubon Braves in the East Asia Super League (EASL) on Wednesday night meant a lot of things.

First, it was TNT's first EASL victory since the 2019 Terrific 12 tournament. Second, it was sweet revenge for the Tropang Giga after first absorbing a 106-97 loss last month. Third, they were finally able to defend home turf in Sta. Rosa, Laguna after the defeat to the Chiba Jets last month.

But for TNT's prized import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, it was the game he had long been waiting for.

It was the first time that he was able to team up with his older brother, Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, in a professional league.

"In a life where you’ve looked up to your brother watched him grind and struggle. Wanted to play together in college, even asked him to redshirt so we could be at Temple together," Rondae wrote on Instagram after the game, along with a photo with his brother wearing the same jersey.

"Becoming a pro playing for nine years, and we haven’t played together until now. If you know me you know how much this meant to me/us," he added.

"This was a win for both of us, our family and our city. The hope and inspiration are beautiful and I’m finally glad we were able to do this at this level. I love you, big brother."

Rahlir kept his response simple, but it was all that was needed to be said.

"I love you too my brother," he replied in a comment.

Rondae was the Player of the Game with 35 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and three blocks.

His older brother impressed a lot as well, tallying 22 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks in his debut for TNT, which improved to 1-4.

It was a no-brainer. Their chemistry was instant for the Tropang Giga.

"Since I became pro, we've always talked about playing together," Rondae said in an EASL interview.

"My brother is a really talented player, but the thing that I love about him most, which I took from him is his work ethic," he added.

Looks like the Tropang Giga can expect more from this kapatid duo in the future.

"We brought him (Rahlir) in for chemistry and energy. So far, he’s giving both tremendously. We believe that the more he settles down with the squad, with the situation, it will be much better. But, so far so good," added assistant coach Josh Reyes.

The RHJs and TNT will be looking to defend home turf again, this time in Pasig, when they face Rhenz Abando and the Anyang KGC Red Boosters in a rematch on January 24.
