Coast-to-Coast: Adebayo hits 10K points; Westbrook claims 208th career triple-double

Bam Adebayo reached a personal milestone, Russell Westbrook added to his all-time triple-double record, while Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama delivered standout performances for the Lakers and Spurs, respectively, on a loaded 10-game NBA slate.

ADEBAYO ECLIPSES 10K POINTS; SPURS STAY SHARP 

  • Miami Heat (36-29) def. Detroit Pistons (45-18), 121-110: Bam Adebayo scored 24 points on his way to eclipsing the 10,000-point mark in his career, anchoring the Heat’s fifth successive win at the expense of the East-leading Pistons.

Adebayo also joined three-time champion Dwyane Wade as the only players in franchise history to score 10,000 points in a Heat uniform.

  • San Antonio Spurs (47-17) def. Houston Rockets (39-24), 145-120: The red-hot Spurs posted a season-high in points in a 25-point rout of Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.

Victor Wembanyama finished with 29 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks in another dominant two-way performance.

  • Toronto Raptors (36-27) def. Dallas Mavericks (21-43), 122-92: Behind RJ Barrett’s season-high 31 points, the Raptors snapped a four-game skid thanks to a 30-point beatdown of the Mavericks.

  • New Orleans Pelicans (21-45) def. Washington Wizards 16-47), 138-118: Trey Murphy III, Saddiq Bey, and Zion Williamson combined for 67 points, joining forces to help the Pelicans send the reeling Wizards to their eighth straight loss.

  • Orlando Magic (35-28) def. Milwaukee Bucks (27-36), 130-91: The Magic made it four straight wins as Paolo Banchero’s 33-point effort propelled Orlando to another blowout victory, this time against the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Bucks.

 

WESTBROOK CLAIMS 208TH CAREER TRIP-DUB; SUNS STOP HORNETS ROAD RAMPAGE 

  • Sacramento Kings (15-29) def. Chicago Bulls (26-38), 126-110: Behind Russell Westbrook’s 23-point, 12-assist, 11-rebound performance, the Kings toppled the Bulls as the veteran guard recorded his NBA-record extending 208th career triple-double.

It marked the fourth triple-double of the season for the 37-year-old as Sacramento also snapped a three-game skid.

  • Phoenix Suns (37-27) def. Charlotte Hornets (32-33), 111-99: Devin Booker dazzled with a 30-point, 10-assist double-double as the Suns ended the Hornets’ 10-game road winning streak.

  • Los Angeles Lakers (39-25) def. New York Knicks (41-24), 110-97: Without LeBron James, Luka Doncic picked up the slack with a 35-point performance to push the Lakers past the visiting Knicks.

  • Boston Celtics (43-21) def. Cleveland Cavaliers (39-25), 109-98: Jayson Tatum scored 20 points in his second game back from an Achilles injury, lifting the Celtics to a commanding win over the Cavaliers in a battle of Eastern Conference contenders.

  • Portland Trail Blazers (31-34) def. Indiana Pacers (15-49), 131-111: Scoot Henderson scored a season-high 28 points as the Trail Blazers dominated the Pacers to hand Indiana its ninth straight loss.
