Houston won its all-Texas derby with the Spurs, scoring a 111-106 comeback win on Wednesday (PH time) at the Toyota Center.
The Rockets trailed by as many as 16 points and only regained the lead late in the fourth, but it was more than enough for their third straight win, improving to 26-15 in the competitive West.
Reed Sheppard led the Rockets with 21 points, while Alperen Sengun had 20 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists in a strong all-around effort.
For San Antonio, Julian Champagnie shot eight triples on his way to a game-high 27 points.
The loss dropped the Spurs to 30-14, but they keep second place in the West behind the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
