Wemby to the rescue.
Victor Wembanyama had a big second half to tow the San Antonio Spurs past the Boston Celtics, 100-95, on Sunday (PH time) at the TD Garden.
The Celtics controlled most of the game but never led by double digits, giving San Antonio the opportunity to pounce late.
That’s exactly what the Spurs did, with Wembanyama scoring 16 of his 21 points in the second half to help San Antonio snatch the victory.
De’Aaron Fox also had 21 points as the Spurs improved to 27-11, creating a two-game buffer for the no. 2 spot in the West.
Derrick White had 29 points for Boston, and Jaylen Brown added 27 but the Celtics dropped to 24-14 with the loss.
