Tyrese Maxey played a key role in making Paul George’s season debut a winning one as the Philadelphia 76ers came from behind to beat the LA Clippers.
The Detroit Pistons notched 10 straight wins for the first time in nearly 20 years, while defending champions OKC Thunder and Toronto Raptors also kept their winning streaks in Tuesday’s eight-game NBA lineup.
PISTONS CRUISE TO 10TH STRAIGHT WIN; THUNDER, RAPTORS KEEP HUMMING
- Detroit Pistons (12-2) def. Indiana Pacers (1-13), 127-112: For the first time in 17 years, the red-hot Pistons won 10 straight games after dominating the struggling Pacers.
Jalen Duren powered a balanced Detroit attack with a monster 31-point, 15-rebound performance, strengthening their hold on the top spot in the East.
- OKC Thunder (14-1) def. New Orleans Pelicans (2-12), 126-109: Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 23 points. But, as in previous games, he sat out the fourth quarter during the Thunder’s comfortable road victory.
OKC erupted for 49 points in the opening frame—the most in the city’s modern era— while extending their franchise-best start to 14-1 through the first 15 games of the season.
- Toronto Raptors (9-5) def. Charlotte Hornets (4-10), 110-108: RJ Barrett nailed the go-ahead basket with 18.4 seconds remaining, lifting the Raptors to their fourth straight win.
The Hornets had multiple chances to tie the game, but Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes provided stellar end-game defense, helping Toronto improve to 8-1 in their last nine games.
- Philadelphia 76ers (8-5) def. LA Clippers (4-10), 110-108: Tyrese Maxey erupted for 39 points as the Sixers overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the Clippers.
Paul George made his long-awaited season debut, contributing nine points in his first game back after seven months.

- Chicago Bulls (7-6) def. Denver Nuggets (10-3), 130-127: The Bulls squandered an 18-point lead but recovered just in time to outlast the Nuggets, ending Denver’s seven-game winning streak while halting their own five-game slide.

- Miami Heat (8-6) def. New York Knicks (8-5), 110-108: The Heat held on for a thrilling finish against rivals Knicks to remain dominant at home.
Karl-Anthony Towns had several chances to force overtime, but Miami’s defense tightened when it mattered most, helping them snap a mini slump.
- Cleveland Cavaliers (10-5) def. Milwaukee Bucks (8-7), 118-106: Donovan Mitchell poured in 25 of his 37 points in the first half to propel the Cavs past the Bucks at home.
- Minnesota Timberwolves (9-5) def. Dallas Mavericks (4-11), 120-96: Naz Reid scored 22 points in 23 minutes, pacing six Timberwolves in double-figures of a 24-point romp of the reeling Mavericks.
