AJ Edu and the Gunma Crane Thunders will host the G League United as part of the 2025 B.LEAGUE Global Invitational.
Gilas Pilipinas standout AJ Edu should be set to make his debut with the Gunma Crane Thunders in the 2025 B.LEAGUE Global Invitational on September 12 at the Open House Arena.
After signing with the Crane Thunders in the offseason, Edu’s first opportunity with his new team will be against the G League Ignite.
Edu, who endured an injury-riddled first season with Toyama, enjoyed a much more consistent campaign with the Nagasaki Velca last season, appearing in 59 of 60 games.
He averaged 5.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.4 blocks with the Velca while starting 51 games.
In the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup with Gilas, Edu showcased his versatility, putting up averages of 8.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 blocks across five games.
The Global Invitational serves as part of B.LEAGUE’s initiative to provide high-level exposure and opportunities for players including Edu, who continue to raise their profile in international basketball.
Aside from Gunma, the G League Ignite will also take on Alvark Tokyo in the pre-season series.
