The Philippines is on the brink of qualifying for another AFC Women’s Asian Cup berth, with only Hong Kong standing in the way as the Filipinas play their final match of Group G at the Olympic Stadium in Phnomn Penh on Saturday afternoon.

The Filipinas, who are leading their group with six points off of two wins against Saudi Arabia and Cambodia, will need a draw or a win against Hong Kong to seal their place in the main tournament slated in Australia next year.

With impressive 3-nil and 6-nil wins over their first two foes, the Filipinas are targeting a perfect run.

Meryll Serrano, who scored a brace against Cambodia in their last game, said that they are eager to end the tournament with another big win — even if they just need the one point to qualify.

“I think we just have to keep going,” said Serrano, who made a return to the national team after missing out the Manila camp last month.

“We have one more game against Hong Kong and we really wanna go and get all the points,” she added.

After absorbing a friendly loss to Chinese Taipei at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in June, the Filipinas have been on a tear.

With getting spot in the Women’s Asian Cup being the first step to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027, the Filipinas are adamant to get things going again.

After seeing their fans show up in Cambodia in the past two games, Serrano is counting on them to head to the stadium for one more match as they aim for one more win to cap things off in Cambodia this weekend.

“I want to thank [all the fans] for all the support. We’re happy,” she said.

The Filipinas kick off against Hong Kong at 5:00 p.m., Manila time.
