Still undefeated, the Lynx cruised to their fourth 8-0 start in franchise history as the Fever and Storm snapped their respective skids with much-needed victories in Commissioner’s Cup group stage play.
RED-HOT LYNX CRUISE TO 8-0 START; FEVER, STORM SNAP SKIDS
- Minnesota Lynx (8-0) def. Phoenix Mercury (5-3), 88-65: For just the fourth time in franchise history, the league-leading Lynx rolled to a 8-0 start into the season after thumping the Mercury.
- Phee 🤝T-Spoon: Napheesa Collier stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and five dimes while Natisha Hiedeman also chipped in 18 for Minnesota, who improved to 2-0 to lead the West in Commissioner’s Cup play.
- Indiana Fever (3-4) def. Washington Mystics (3-5), 85-76: Kelsey Mitchell took the scoring cudgel for the Caitlin Clark-less Fever with 23 points, anchoring the squad to snap a three-game losing skid and barged into the win column of the mid-season tournament.
Lexie Hull scored all 14 of her points in the second half as Indiana rode a blistering 31-21 third quarter to pull away in the second half.
- Seattle Storm (4-4) def. Dallas Wings (1-7), 83-77: Gabby Williams and Nneka Ogwumike dropped a combined 32 points, taking charge of a gutsy 11-point Storm comeback over the Paige Bueckers-less Wings to notch their first win in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Seattle leaned on a strong second half, outscoring Dallas, 53-39, in the final two quarters to end a three-game skid.
