Simon Enciso came into the PBA Season Philippine Cup with a chip on his shoulder.

After being released by San Miguel, Enciso did not know where his career was headed.

As he was preparing for the worst, the spitfire guard got a call-up from TNT.

The 6-foot-1 guard has been slowly proving his worth since then.

Against Blackwater Friday, June 6, he led the Tropang 5G's mauling of Blackwater, 108-82.

He was later named Player of the Game.

"My career was kind of in a gray space. Luckily, coach Chot (Reyes), coach Jolas (Lastimosa), and boss Ricky Vargas gave me a chance," said Enciso, who produced a team-high 19 points.

His 11 points in the second period helped TNT create a 54-40 separation at halftime which it protected to the finish.

All Enciso wants now is to return the favor by working hard to prove that the team made the right move.

"I'm just trying to work hard and show up everyday, to show them that they made the right choice," said Enciso.

Also stepping up in the match was Kelly Williams, who finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Calvin Oftana had 14 markers, three boards and three assists, while Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser added 12 points, five rebounds and a block in his second game back from an ACL injury that sidelined him for over a year.

The work does not end there for him and the Tropang 5G, who rolled to a sixth straight win to erase the harrowing memory of their 0-3 start.

Meanwhile, misery continued for the Bossing as it slipped to a sixth consecutive setback for a 1-8 record.

Christian David led with 13 points and the same number of rebounds, while Sedrick Barefield chipped in 13 markers.
