Saturday against fierce rival University of the Philippines as the premier preseason league gets things going at Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
It’s all about sustaining its groove for the defending UAAP champion with coach Topex Robinson aware that this is a new frontier for his wards.
“We know that we’re the hunted now and every team will bring their A-game against us, so we just have to stay true to ourselves and play the only way we know how,” he said.
But this is a different Fighting Maroons squad, one armed with new assets including Fil-Ams Jacob Bayla, Denzil Walker, and Gani Stevens and new foreign student-athlete Dikachi Odudo.
The two teams clash at 5 p.m., serving as the main event for this opening quintuple-header that also feature Mapua vs. Lyceum, JRU vs. Perpetual, Adamson vs. UE, and Letran going up against San Beda.
