As a player-and-coach tandem, LA Tenorio and Tim Cone won seven PBA championships with Ginebra. Though Tenorio is calling the shots now from rival team Magnolia, the two reunite at Gilas.
From Gilas Pilipinas, Magnolia head coach LA Tenorio went straight to the Hotshots’ practice at the Upper Deck Gym Thursday, November 20.
That has been the set-up since the national team hit the ground running for the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Lest people forget, Tenorio is also part of the Gilas coaching staff.

“Trabaho eh. Ganun talaga,” Tenorio said in a previous interview.
“Sinakto ko mga break nila, wala rin ako dito. Siguro may ilang days lang, isa o dalawa, so other coaches can handle.”
At Gilas, Tenorio also reunites with Ginebra coach Tim Cone, with whom he won seven championships as a player.
Though it’s tough to wear two hats at once, the rookie PBA head coach is making the most of the opportunity to learn more from his teacher.

“Oo (sulit naman yung pagod). Marami ako matututunan,” said Tenorio, who is also the head coach of Gilas' youth team.
Tenorio, Cone and Gilas will visit Guam on November 28 before hosting them in turn on December 1 at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
