Alas Pilipinas Women get the job done against Singapore to clinch their spot in the semifinals of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.
Alas Pilipinas Women are officially through to the semifinals of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games after making quick work of Singapore, 25-13, 25-8, 25-18, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok on Friday, December 12.
It was a much better outing for Alas Women a day after their opening match loss to 14-time reigning champions Thailand.
The national team finally got back on track with a brilliant all-around team performance led by the trio of Alyssa Solomon, Bella Belen, and Angel Canino.
Shaina Nitura and Amie Provido also made significant contributions, notably during the second and third frames.
Alas will now await the top seed in Group B, which will either be Vietnam or Indonesia. The two nations, both carrying a 2-0 record, will face off later in the evening.
