NU’s Bella Belen and Ateneo’s Kacey Dela Rosa will be feted awards for their stellar showing in UAAP Season 87.
Three-time MVP Bella Belen is set to banner a handful of UAAP student-athletes across various sports to be feted at the 2025 Collegiate Press Corps (CPC) Awards Night set on June 30 at the Discovery Suites Manila in Pasig City.
Belen, who recently ended her collegiate career with the NU Lady Bulldogs as champions in UAAP Season 87, will be feted for winning her third MVP and UAAP title in the last four seasons, while Ateneo's Kacey Dela Rosa will be recognized for her back-to-back MVP plums in women's basketball.
The awards night will feature three sports — basketball, volleyball, and for the first time in the organization’s history, football.
Basketball will fete Mythical Teams for both the men’s and women’s division and will have one Player of the Year each as well for both genders, with Dela Rosa leading the awardees on the women’s side.
Volleyball, meanwhile, features Player of the Year honors for each of the two collegiate divisions of the UAAP and NCAA.
Additionally, the CPC will debut Player of the Year awards for football — with two awards going for men’s and women’s football in the UAAP, and one for men’s football in the NCAA.
“We owe it to the student-athletes to continue to glorify their unwavering efforts, with football players in the spotlight this time around. This is our own little way of immortalizing them for what they have done not just for their respective schools, but also for collegiate sports as a whole,” said Collegiate Press Corps (CPC) president John Bryan Ulanday of The Philippine Star.
Coaches will also be recognized for leading their teams to championships in their respective sports.
Expected to attend the festivities as well are UAAP executive director Atty. Rebo Saguisag, along with sports director Bo Perasol of Season 87 hosts UP where they will serve as guests of honor and speakers.
