Chenie Tagaod and the FEU Lady Tamaraws aim to defy the odds once again as they challenge top-seeded NU Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball Final Four on Saturday, May 3, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Entering the semifinals as the no. 4 seed, the Lady Tamaraws are no strangers to the underdog role—especially against NU.

Just last season, FEU pushed the twice-to-beat Lady Bulldogs to a do-or-die Game 2, showing their ability to rattle even the most dominant teams.

Now, with the same twice-to-win mountain to climb, FEU banks on that experience and a composed, confident approach to deliver another semifinal surprise.

Tagaod, one of FEU’s most seasoned hitters, will be the key to unlocking NU’s defense.

After an up-and-down season, the veteran spiker hopes to peak at the right time and extend FEU’s season into a knockout match on Wednesday.

The Lady Tamaraws will also look to capitalize on the cracks shown in NU’s armor during their tightly contested elimination round meetings—even if both ended in favor of the defending champions.

NU, anchored by MVP contender Bella Belen and departing star Alyssa Solomon, is expected to go all out to avoid another semifinal scare.

But with nothing to lose and everything to gain, FEU stands ready to play spoiler once more and inch closer to an unlikely Finals berth.

It’s win-or-go-home for the Tamaraws—and they wouldn’t want it any other way.
