Shevana Laput guides the De La Salle University Lady Spikers to victory against the Adamson Lady Falcons in four sets, 17-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-22, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday, April 17th at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
She scored a game-high 24 points built on 22 attacks and two blocks, stepping up in the absence of injured reigning MVP Angel Canino. Opposite hitter Baby Jyne Soreño collided with libero Lyka De Leon while attempting a dig, sustaining a shoulder injury.
With this win, De La Salle joins the National University Lady Bulldogs and the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses in a three-way tie for first place, all boasting identical 10-2 win-loss records. According to UAAP rules, a tie-breaker system based on points will be used to determine the final standings. Currently, National University leads with 30 points, followed by De La Salle at 29 points and UST at 28 points.
