De La Salle University were dealt another blow during their four-set win against Adamson University, 17-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-22, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, April 17.

Opposite hitter Baby Jyne Soreno had to be helped off the court after suffering a shoulder injury in the first set.

Soreno was the latest to get bit by the injury bug for the Lady Spikers after reigning MVP Angel Canino went down with an arm injury.

Despite this latest setback, La Salle still managed to pull off a victory against Adamson and force a three-way tie for first place in the standings.

Among those spearheading the charge for DLSU is team captain Julia Coronel, who finished with 19 excellent sets to go along with six points in the win.

"As much as possible, I try to my best to keep motivating them. I try to talk each and every one [and] just uplift their spirits, even if sometimes ako rin [am] not at my best," Coronel said during the post-game press conference.

The 5-foot-9 setter lauded her team's support despite their adversities in Season 86, promising that La Salle will continue to fight no matter what.

"We really just have each other's backs. Laban lang kami ng lalaban hanggang sa dulo," said Coronel.

Assistant coach Noel Orcullo, meanwhile, bared the DLSU coaching staff's reminders to the team as they remain in the hunt for a twice-to-beat bonus.

"Kung sino 'yung nandyan, maglaro. Kung may mawala, huwag nating hanapin. Basta andyan kayo, naka-lineup kayo. Kailangan kung ano maitutulong niyo, gawin niyo," said Orcullo.

"Lahat give all, lahat ng puwede niyong maitulong sa team. Hindi pupuwedeng maghanap ng wala, so dapat mag-step up bawat isa sa kanila," he added.

La Salle will look to continue their winning form as they face their long-time rivals, Ateneo de Manila University at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, April 21.
